Menopase
DON’T LET MENOPAUSE RUIN YOUR LIFE!
Are you going through menopause and suffering from hot flashes, mood swings and weight gain? Are you concerned about common age-related female health problems, such as osteoporosis (bone loss), heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease?
If so, you should know about a safe and effective natural solution known as bio-identical hormone replacement (HRT).
Why are hormones so important?
When talking about female hormones, we usually refer to estrogen and progesterone.
Estrogen is actually a combination of several different hormones, with 3 of them being particularly important – estrone, estradiol, and estriol. They are mostly produced by the ovaries and to a lesser extent by the adrenal glands.
Estriol is the predominant hormone because its level is 8-9 times higher than either of estrone or estradiol. But the most potent of the three is estradiol.
It is estradiol that is mostly responsible for the “estrogenic” effects, both positive and negative. Estrone is weaker than estradiol and estriol is the weakest. It has protective and anti-carcinogenic properties, so it is a good thing that there is so much of it in the body.
Estrogen is important for circulation, bone strength, brain and mental function, immune system, skin, bladder, and many other organs. As estrogen level drops, these organs become weaker and overall health declines.
Progesterone protects you from any negative effects of estrogen. It also provides a natural diuretic action (fights water retention), improves mood (natural anti-depressant), regulates blood sugar, maintains normal lining of the uterus, increases burning of fat to create energy, improves the activity of the thyroid hormone, increases bone building and protects against bone loss. It also improves sex drive and protects you against fibrocystic breasts and cancer of the breast and the uterus.
Estradiol is sometimes blamed for breast and uterus cancers, but this effect is opposed by estriol and progesterone. If you have plenty of both, the risk of cancer is extremely small. That is why young women, whose levels of estradiol are high, have very low risk of cancer. They are protected by equally high levels of estriol and progesterone.
Pregnant women have levels of estradiol that are hundreds of times higher than in non-pregnant women, yet they also have extremely low cancer risk because of estriol and progesterone.
Unfortunately, these protective hormones decline after your 40th birthday and drop to almost zero after menopause. This is the reason why older women have higher risk of cancers. It is not because they have too much estrogen – they don’t. It is because they have so little of estriol and progesterone.
But aren’t hormones dangerous?
I know that you have heard many conflicting reports about hormone replacement. On one hand, it is clear that as the hormones go down, woman’s health deteriorates. Young women who have high levels of hormones are quite healthy. But older women develop osteoporosis (bone loss), heart disease, heart attacks, loss of height, decreased vitality, strength, and stamina. They get thin and wrinkled skin, vaginal dryness, decreased sexuality and frequent urination.
On the other hand, recent studies showed that postmenopausal women who took conventional hormone treatment had higher rates of breast and uterine cancers and heart disease. A paradox?
Not really. The reason is that conventional hormone replacement did not use the same hormones that your body naturally produces. It uses drugs, which are synthetic chemicals that are foreign to a human body. By taking these drugs, a woman is not actually “replacing” anything, because the hormonal imbalance remains exactly the same.
What are these drugs?
Conventional hormone replacement therapy is limited to 2 options. If a woman had a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), she gets only estrogen, usually a drug called Premarin. If she still has her uterus, she gets Premarin plus a synthetic progesterone, usually a drug called Provera.
Women who take these drugs have a quick reduction of menopausal symptoms, but at a price – increased risk of breast and endometrial (uterine) cancers and increased risk of heart disease.
Premarin is made from the urine of pregnant mares. The urine is collected, concentrated, chemically modified, packaged, and sold to unsuspecting women. Premarin is very different from normal female estrogen. It contains a substance unique to horses and totally foreign to women – a horse hormone called equilline. It is hundreds of times more potent than natural estradiol and has much stronger carcinogenic properties, which is the reason for increased cancer risk.
According to the manufacturer of Premarin, the risk of endometrial cancer is 5 to 14 times higher in users of the drug than in non-users.
Provera (synthetic progesterone) is a man-made chemical. It is quite different from natural female progesterone. It is not a normal part of a woman’s body and it does not have the protective effects of the real progesterone. In fact, this drug actually increases the risk of heart disease, weight gain, depression and blood clots.
Now You Have a Safer Natural Alternative
Is there a better way? A way that does not result in increased risk of cancer while providing the benefits? The answer is YES.
When it comes to hormone replacement, we don’t have to reinvent the wheel. The best approach is to mimic the “working model” – normal healthy woman. All we need to do is imitate nature and use real hormones, the same that your body makes. Real hormones are natural by definition.
This is exactly what we do when treating other hormonal problems. Patients with diabetes get exactly the same insulin that is normally produced by the body. Patients with sluggish thyroid get the exact replica of the thyroid hormone. But women suffering from menopause are given unnatural synthetic chemicals that are totally foreign to them!
Fortunately, there are natural hormones and they are readily available. They are derived from plants, such as wild yam and soybeans and they are exactly the same as the normal human hormones. They provide the benefits without all the side effects.
These hormones are called bio-identical to emphasize that they are the same in structure and biological activity as your own hormones.
Natural hormones not only reduce the symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes, depression and mood swings. They also make you feel better, stronger, and healthier, while helping you fight osteoporosis, heart disease and weight gain.
Unlike the conventional HRT, where every patient gets the same drug, this therapy is customized for each woman, based on the results of her blood tests and other diagnostic studies. Of course, you need the help of an experienced physician who will determine how much you need and what other steps are necessary to restore and maintain your good health. And that’s where I come in.
Over the last 20 years, I have treated many hundreds of women just like you with excellent results and I can help you fight the effects of menopause. You don’ t have to live with hot flashes, night sweats, depression and mood swings.
A Word About DHEA and Testosterone
The discussion of natural HRT would not be complete without mentioning these two important hormones.
Testosterone is considered a “male” hormone, but women also have it in small amounts. After menopause testosterone level takes a big dive.
The function of testosterone in women is the same as in men. It improves muscle strength, immune system function, makes stronger bones, and better libido.
If necessary, I can add a small amount of natural testosterone to estrogen and progesterone for better results.
DHEA or dehydroepiandrosterone is a hormone naturally produced by the adrenal glands. It is quite high in young women and can drop to very low levels after menopause. Medical studies show that people with low DHEA have higher rates of heart disease and heart attacks. They are more likely to have diabetes, circulation problems, and even cancer.
According to medical literature, restoring healthy DHEA levels by supplements can improve mood, vitality, metabolism, strength, libido, and general well-being. What is even better, DHEA is so safe that it is available over-the-counter.
The Solution You Have Been Waiting For Is Finally Here!
The fact is that natural hormones (estrogen, progesterone, DHEA and testosterone) make you strong, healthy, fit and sexy. But as you age, hormone levels drop, which makes you look and feel older, slower and weaker. Plus, you develop a higher risk of heart disease, osteoporosis, stroke and cancer.
Unfortunately, most doctors do not know how to treat this problem. Their only solution is to give you synthetic hormones, which make you worse in the long run.
But there is a better way! If you are going through menopause or have already gone, you can use natural bio-identical hormones, which are exactly the same as your own with the same beneficial results.
This can increase energy level, overall well-being, and enjoyment of life, help muscle and bone strength, promote mental function and memory, and even help reduce the risk of osteoporosis, diabetes, heart attacks, and strokes. It can even improve libido and sexual enjoyment. This is the same method that was popularized by Suzanne Sommers in her bestselling books. And medical studies show that this treatment is quite safe and improves bone strength without all the side effects of synthetic chemical hormones.
The first step is to find out where you stand with respect to estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA. All that can be done with a simple blood test. The same blood test will check your other hormones (thyroid), vitamins, minerals, cardiac risk factors, and much more.
The second step is to correct whatever imbalances you may have, using natural, plant-based, bio-identical hormones.
I have helped many hundreds of women to fight the symptoms and problems of menopause. I am sure that I can help you regain the energy, vitality, stamina, and general health you enjoyed before menopause.
Call today to make an appointment for a comprehensive consultation. It typically lasts about an hour, during which time we will explore your history in great details and address any health concerns that you might have. I will also discuss the results of your blood test, which you will do about a week before the visit.
I will also perform a live blood cell analysis, a unique diagnostic test that uses one drop of blood and a powerful microscope to learn many things about your state of health. The results of the test will be available immediately.
You will also get a comprehensive body analysis that determines your body composition (muscle, fat and water).
Non-hormonal treatment
If you do not like the idea of using bio-identical hormones, despite their proven record of safety and effectiveness, there is another way to improve your hormones. The reason they are low is because the organs responsible for making them (adrenals and the ovaries) are not doing a good job. We can support these organs and improve their function using special nutritional supplements.
This method is not as quick as using bio-identical hormones, but it is a reasonable alternative.
